In 2008 I started the Found In Vermont Blog. Paula and I were living as a caretakers on a private estate in Stowe Vermont. I was driving a cab for Peg's Pickup and Paula was making art in the large basement studio. We frequently took little day trips to look for and collect scrap materials/found objects, and take photographs. Paula had found her artistic voice in the previous two years and I was beginning to get the itch to make things.
The posts are written as stories of experiences spanning from the previous 2-3 years to the current time. I wanted to capture the feel of our odd life. It was very inspiring for me to witness Paula's birth as an artist. As much as I was aware of the big changes going on for Paula, I had no idea that the course of my own life would be so profoundly altered. It is now three years later and I am living in Seattle on my own. I mostly make art and all of the new people in my life know me as an artist.
